| On the evening of September 30, the local Boy Scout and Cub Scout groups held their meeting at the firehouse. Members of the fire department provided basic fire prevention instruction, led by Lieutenant Hans Marselis and Commissioner Kolesar. The scouts were also given the opportunity to view the department’s fire trucks.
As a volunteer fire department, teaching fire prevention to the community remains a priority, especially with Fire Prevention Week approaching from October 4 through October 10. Additional fire prevention techniques and information will be shared in the coming days.
The department extends appreciation to Assistant Chief O'Brien, Engineer Crisalli, and Firefighter Burrows for their assistance during the event.
