Fire Officers

The firematic officers of the Montrose Fire District, Cortlandt Engine Company, are elected annually by the department’s active membership. Officers typically serve two consecutive one-year terms. The Captain and Lieutenants are elected directly by the active members, while the Chief Officers are selected through a special election. Following this election, the names of the Chiefs are submitted to the Board of Fire Commissioners for confirmation and official appointment.

Each officer’s term runs from January through December.
